Monologue — free speaking practice (A2)
In the Speaking part you answer a situation within a fixed time. Here you practise A2 speaking tasks and get AI feedback — so starting immediately and keeping going feels familiar before the real exam.
Choose a topic and record your answer — the AI grades it:

Holidays and traditionsWhy practise speaking freely?
The Speaking part includes tasks where you talk about something yourself: your work, your family, your day, or how you would handle a situation. The task is spoken by a person on video and you then record your answer — roughly 60 seconds per task.
Many people understand Dutch reasonably well but freeze as soon as they have to speak. So here you practise out loud: pick a topic, start straight away, and only afterwards look at what could be better.
At A2 you do not need complicated sentences. Short, correct sentences that follow on from each other are enough — and far stronger than one long sentence that stalls halfway.
How the AI grading works
Record your answer or type it — the AI turns speech into text. You then get scores with explanations, things to watch, vocabulary suggestions and a model answer.
The points are our own practice scale for showing progress, not an official result.
Practice is free and no account is needed — the site has no registration. Your browser first runs a short background check that you are not a bot.
Frequently asked questions — free speaking
How long should I talk?
The speaking part allows roughly 60 seconds per task. A few connected sentences are enough — if a word escapes you, say it another way rather than going silent.
What if I do not know a word?
Describe it. That is exactly what is valued at A2: making yourself clear with the words you do have.
Do I have to record, or can I type?
Either works. Recording is closest to the exam, because you also practise pronunciation and pace.
How is it graded?
This exercise gives points for task completion, grammar, vocabulary and fluency, with a short comment on each and a model answer. It is our practice scale, not an official assessment.
Can I practise for free?
Yes, free and without registration — a quick check that you are not a bot is enough.
