Your personal file โ what you arrange and see there
2 min read

Everything official about you sits in one place: your own online file. That is where you register for a part, where you see which parts you have passed, and where your pathway and your deadline are recorded.
That is not a detail. It is the only address at which the information about your situation is correct.
What you find there
| What | Why it is there |
|---|---|
| Your pathway and your deadline | these differ per person and cannot be worked out from an article |
| Which parts you have passed | the parts are independent; a part you have passed, you keep |
| Your registrations | with the location and date you chose yourself |
| Your result | it also arrives by letter, but you can view it online here |
What you arrange there
You register per part, not for the exam as a whole, and you pick your own location and date. In the European part of the Netherlands exams run all year round; slots generally open one to two months in advance, and popular locations fill up fast.
If you do not pass one part, you re-register for that part only and pay for that part only. The rest stands.
Why this is the only answer that is right for you
The integration rules differ from person to person and have changed over recent years. What applies to you depends on your residence permit, the date you received it, and the pathway set for you.
So someone who arrived a year earlier may fall under different rules than you. Advice from friends and forums is often correct โ for them. Your file is the only thing that is about you.
Check it early, not when your deadline is nearly up. If you are unsure what you are reading there, ask the organisation itself or your case contact.
What it does not tell you
- The number of questions per part and the pass mark. Those are not published officially. If you want to know what a part really feels like, sit a practice exam โ that gives you the format and the time pressure, which a number does not.
- What language requirement will apply if you naturalise. That runs through a different authority and can change; see naturalisation and the language requirement.
This site is separate from all of it: here you only practise. Our assessments are practice feedback and never end up in any official file.
